SpaMed, Minnesota's leading cosmetic medical center and medical spa has just introduced the latest breakthrough in light-based skin therapy called TITAN™.
The TITAN technology and skin tightening procedure minimizes skin looseness and stimulates long-term collagen rebuilding.
The TITAN is the first light-based solution for deep dermal heating, and utilizes infrared light to heat deep dermal tissue, while sparing the epidermis through continuous cooling. The result is younger looking and tighter skin.
Before undergoing a surgical face lift or tummy tuck, the TITAN procedure is worth considering for several reasons.
The TITAN Procedure is:
- Non-surgical
- Non-ablative
- Tailored to your needs
- Uses safe, infrared light
- Is very comfortable
- Provides continuous, epidermal cooling
- Excellent results.
When compared to radio wave thermal technology, TITAN has been shown to be at least twice as effective. Over 90 percent of patients have noticed an improvement.
The TITAN procedure treats sagging and redundant skin throughout the body including the abdomen and thighs, and is also used to tone, lift, and tighten the skin on the face.
TITAN is also used as a treatment for the loose skin often found on older necks and is very effective for the sagging skin found under upper arms.
Based on infrared energy delivered safely through a sapphire tip, TITAN tightens the skin, shrinks the collagen, and reverses signs of aging safely, comfortably, and without downtime.
Questions and Answers
Q. How long do the treatments take?
A. The treatments can take 20 minutes upto an hour, and could be performed during your lunch hour.
Q. How many treatments are required?
A. Two or three treatments every four weeks may be required.
Q. What areas can be treated?
A. The Titan Procedure treats loose and redundant skin throughout the body including the abdomen, thighs and arms, and is also used to tone, lift and tighten skin on the face and neck.
Q. Who is a good candidate for a Titan procedure?
A. The best candidates are people in their 40s and 50s who are beginning to notice sagging skin, particularly under the chin and abdomen.
Q. What does the procedure accomplish?
A. The Titan Procedure utilizes a blended, infrared light source to reverse the signs of aging. Titan creates significant heating in the dermis, enabling the body to repair the skin. The collagen shrinks due to the applied heat along with the overall structure of the skin. This occurs over time as well.
Q. How does it work?
A. The infrared light source delivers uniform, even heating to the dermal layer of the skin. Following pre-cooling of the skin, continuous cooling is used to protect it during treatment. The heat profile provides immediate collagen contraction. As heat spreads through the treatment area, post-cooling protects the epidermis.
Q. Is the Titan procedure painful?
A. The Titan is equipped with a skin-cooling system which allows the continuous direct cooling of the epidermis during treatment to minimize discomfort. Patients may experience a warm sensation. Anesthesia is not required. However, the doctor may recommend a pain killer tablet prior to the procedure.
Q. Is the Titan procedure safe?
A. Yes. The Titan procedure heats the skin while protecting the epidermis.
Q. What are the risks and side effects?
A. Following the procedure, it is common to see either no reaction or some mild skin irritation or redness that resolves rapidly. As with any clinical procedure, there may be a small incidence of side effects and minor complications that may occur. These will be explained to you during your consultation.
Q. Is the Titan FDA approved?
A. Yes.
Q. When will I see results?
A. Some people will see some results immediately. Most people will begin to see tightening in the treated area about three weeks following the procedure. Gradual improvement occurs upto six months following the Titan procedure.
